Samsung, Apple, and other smartphone makers announced their own prepaid smartphones on Monday, all with built-ins for the USB flash storage.
Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which are now on sale, are both prepaid smartphones with a flash drive.
The S6 will be $199 and the S6 Plus is $279, while the LG G6 and G6 Plus are $349 and $399, respectively.
The LG G5, a phone that’s not yet available for preorder, is $199.99 with a USB flashdrive, and the LG V10 is $299.99.
Sony’s prepaid phone, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, will go on sale this week.
Sony says that its Z1 comes with 128GB of storage and a built in flash drive, which makes it the first smartphone in the world to have a built ins flash drive built in.
The Xperia Z2 is available for $199 with a build in flash, and it also has 128GB storage and is waterproof, Sony said.
“You get unlimited access to your music and movies, unlimited photo sharing, and access to the latest content from Sony,” Sony says.
“The Xperia Z3 Compact and Z3 Plus come with 128Gb of storage, while Xperia Z5 comes with 512Gb of space.
Xperia Z6 comes with 1TB of storage.”
Sony’s announcement comes after Samsung and Apple said that they would also be launching their own smartphones with built in USB flash drives this year.
Apple says that the iPhone 5S will be available with a 128GB internal flash, while its newest iPhone 5C will be compatible with a 256GB flash.
The HTC One X, meanwhile, is also now available with an internal flash drive with a 5GB capacity, while Samsung is launching the Galaxy S7 in November.
Apple’s announcement does not come until next week, however, as the Galaxy Note 5 is also available with built ins USB flash memory.
“With a built IN flash, the Note 5 can take your music, photos, videos, and more and share it all with up to eight friends at once,” Apple said in a statement.
Samsung is also working on a prepaid phone that has a builtin flash drive that will go up to 256GB.
The Galaxy S5 has 256GB of internal flash memory and is compatible with up from 256GB to 1TB.
Samsung says that it will offer a built In flash for the S5 and Galaxy S3 in October, but that it won’t be ready until later this year, though.
Samsung and LG also announced that their phones will be coming to AT&T for a limited time on Tuesday, September 28, with prices ranging from $99 to $129 for the Galaxy Tab S7, S7 Edge, S6, and S7 Max, and $199 to $399 for the LG X1.
